If you’re planning to attend a mass at St. John Vianney on Balboa Island, there is a Christmas mass scheduled each day at 7:30 a.m. The mass will last approximately one hour. This is the traditional duration of the service. The Mass is a combination of music, Scripture readings, and prayers. While the masses are held in the traditional Roman Catholic fashion, there may be some differences. For example, the schedule is a bit shorter during Advent.
During Holy Week, the parish will offer the Sacrament of Penance. This sacrament is available Monday, April 11, and Wednesday, April 13, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. This sacrament is not offered on the first three days of the Easter Triduum: Good Friday and Holy Thursday. There are no Masses on Holy Saturday.
