But it’s boring, won’t you agree? Even if you cannot give up the recipes proven over the years, try to dream up a little in the kitchen and diversify your table. Experiments in the kitchen always lead to amazing results.
Today we are sharing with you a super creative salad recipe that you will definitely love. Serve the “New Year’s Watermelon” for the holiday.
Watermelon salad that does not contain watermelon will definitely impress your family, friends and guests. By the way, the list of ingredients is quite affordable and simple, and it will not eat half of your salary.

Watermelon salad ingredients
This salad contains the following components:
- 1-2 finely chopped onions;
- 2 boiled and also finely chopped boneless chicken breasts;
- 2-3 chopped tomatoes;
- 1 bunch of green onions;
- 1 bunch of dill;
- 450 g of chopped mushrooms (pickled, salted, taken out of the freezer and boiled fresh mushrooms, bought in a champignon store – all at your discretion);
- 2-3 hard-boiled and chopped eggs;
- 2-3 grated fresh cucumbers;
- 4 tbsp. tablespoons of grated cheese;
- 2-3 pitted olives;
This is the foundation, but you can vary and, again, get creative from your heart. Never be afraid of the flight of fantasy!
Cooking salad “Watermelon”
Heat butter (or olive oil) in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add onions and fresh mushrooms and sauté, stirring constantly, until soft and golden brown.
Now that you have all the ingredients ready, start to lay out the salad in layers. Start with a layer of cooked and sliced chicken breasts for the foundation. Then a layer of mayonnaise, then mushrooms and onions, another layer of mayonnaise, then eggs and again a layer of mayonnaise.
Immediately, from the very first layer, form a semicircle to simulate the shape of a slice of watermelon.
Garnish the salad with chopped tomatoes, grated cheese, coarsely grated cucumbers and chopped herbs. Also chop the olives into small pieces to simulate watermelon seeds.
Ready! You have a quick, simple and creative salad that will not work only for dieters.
