Details are always an important finishing touch in any outfit. The right accessories can freshen up an image, make it more “talking” or add a bright touch of individuality. We study the trends of the new season and purchase fashion accessories for the spring-summer 2021 season!
No more symmetry – feel free to wear different earrings or choose just one catchy earring! What only desperate women of fashion used to do before will become almost an obligatory trend in the coming season. At almost all shows – Alberta Ferretti, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Rodebjer Copenhagen, Ami – one could see models with asymmetrical earrings or one accessory. Take note!
For those who are not ready for bold experiments with asymmetry, there is a more democratic option: in 2021, hoop earrings will be in trend. But now, instead of the usual smooth rings, designers suggest trying on ornate earrings consisting of links. These are exactly what we saw in the collections. Alexander McQueen and Versace.
The multi-tiered thin chains with graceful pendants will be replaced in 2021 by massive, heavy and extremely brutal chains. We are not shy about the size and scale of the jewelry: in the coming season, the principle “the more the better” is in effect. This is clearly confirmed by brands such as Victoria Beckham, Carolina Herrera and Marques’ Almeida.
The trend for large volumes has also touched bracelets – in 2021, the wrists of the fair sex will be safely hidden behind huge round bracelets in the spirit of the 70s and 80s. Some brands, for example Chiara ferragni, suggest wearing many large bracelets made of precious metals at once, while others (Johanna Ortiz, Lanvin, Dior) are encouraged to remember materials such as leather and wood.
As soon as we started to forget about the flirty chokers, they returned to the catwalks again! Dior, Chiara Ferragni, Balenciaga offer classic black options, complemented by small pendants. But Dolce & gabbana encourages girls to try on bold chokers with large flowers.
As for the glasses, in the coming season, the trend will be a large plastic rectangular frame, like in brand shows. Salvatore Ferragamo, Balenciaga and Ami… The colors are mostly natural and muted: mint, gray, brown, and, of course, classic black.
Badges and stripes with inscriptions
Rejoice fans of bright and reckless 2000s! In the coming season, the well-known round plastic badges, as well as catchy stripes, are returning to everyone. True, now anime and other cartoon characters are replaced by quite adult and serious inscriptions. The topics are very diverse: politics, feminism, rights and freedoms, ecology. The main thing is to be loud and provocative.
Socks and knee-highs
Socks, to which we have already got used to over several seasons, will not leave our wardrobe in 2021. They can still be safely combined with sports shoes, sandals, and elegant shoes. In the new season, designers urge us to abandon unnecessary seriousness and create playful and slightly naive images with socks and golfs, as in the collections Miu Miu and Gucci.
Another trend that has unexpectedly returned to us from the past is handbags and phone cases. In the coming year, designers gave them not only a second life, but also a new reading: Versace offers to choose the most striking and catchy models and use as a stylish addition to the image, Balenciaga, on the contrary, stands for minimalism, and Ganni and APC it is recommended to wear several covers at once.
As if in opposition to the fashion for brutal heavy chains and huge bracelets, other designers have proposed such an unusual trend as micro bags. Tiny things that look more like doll accessories and have absolutely no practical function have been shown at shows by brands such as Chanel, Burberry, Balmain, Lanvin and Miu Miu…
Designers suggest wearing them over the shoulder, in the hands, on the belt and even on the neck, and the stars, for example, Rita Ora, it is advised to include several such micro-bags in the image at once.
In the upcoming spring-summer season, designers decided to abandon halftones and went to extremes: simultaneously with tiny handbags, huge roomy hobo bags and shoppers flooded the catwalks. In new collections Valentino, Givenchy, Balmain, Balenciaga you could see many different volumetric models.
Such practical bags have already been chosen by many celebrities, including Princess Beatrice, Emma Roberts, Emilia Clarke, Kim Kardashian.
Wide, clearly visible, prominent belts won the podiums back in 2020, and are not going to give up their positions, although in the new season they are slightly transformed, narrowing to an average size, but at the same time getting large buckles. Brands such as Etro, Alberta Ferretti, Valentino and Dior offer an emphasis on the waist and show belts with huge and unusual buckles.
