Methods to Achieve Soft, Smooth, And Rejuvenated Feet

People love pedicures because a relaxing foot treatment is part of the overall process. However, a person can have this experience anytime in the comfort of their own home without the price of a pedicure. The following tips are of great help in making the feet soft. They can help keep the feet smooth while removing calluses for good.

Create a Foot Soak

Soaking the feet is an excellent way to soften the skin and remove calluses. In fact, people who soak their feet regularly find calluses become a thing of the past. With a few simple foot soak ingredients, soft feet will become the norm.

Make a soothing foot soak by combining two tablespoons of baking soda in a bucket of warm water. Add bath salts with phosphates, as they soften calluses while making it easy to exfoliate dry skin. Sit and watch a favorite TV show while soaking the feet in this mixture for 30 minutes once a week. The skin will feel touchably soft in no time with this one simple trick.

Massage the Foot

Make a foot massage an everyday part of the bedtime routine. Place a few drops of vitamin E oil in the hands and rub them together to warm the oil. Massage the feet with this oil and put a pair of clean socks on. Head to bed and wake up to feet that are softer and smoother. Do this a few times a week and the feet will be ready for a day at the beach or a night on the town with the significant other.

Scrub the Feet Regularly

People wash their feet every time they take a bath or shower. However, washing the feet isn’t enough to remove dead skin and other blemishes. By scrubbing the feet routinely, anyone can keep these problems at bay. Use essential oils as part of a foot scrub to see additional benefits. Combine peppermint oil, coconut oil, and Epsom salt in water and scrub the feet for ten minutes. Next, allow the mixture to sit on the feet for ten minutes.

Wash the feet and pat them dry. The peppermint oil serves as an antiseptic and anti-microbial to protect the feet against fungal infections while soothing aches and pains. The coconut oil moisturizes and softens the feet.

Remove Dry Patches

Vinegar is another household staple that can be used to soften the feet. Mix equal parts water and vinegar in a tub and soak the feet for 15 minutes. Many people prefer to use apple cider vinegar, but any thin vinegar will work.

If thick calluses remain a problem, apply vinegar directly to them for fast results. Wet a cotton ball with vinegar, apply it to the skin, and cover it with a bandaid. Don’t rinse the vinegar before applying the bandaid. The vinegar will work overnight to soften the skin.

However, take care when applying the vinegar and only allow it to touch the patch of dry skin. The acid in the vinegar can be irritating to the skin. Ensure the vinegar only touches the dry skin to prevent this irritation.

These methods are only a few of many ways a person can soften their feet at home. Other ideas to try include using glycerin to melt away dry skin or applying crushed bananas. Try several methods to find the preferred one. With so many options to select from today, any person can find a treatment that will leave their feet soft and smooth to the touch.
