The popularity of the pancake has become so popular that popular chains are trying to forecast their sales. One way to do this is by using the weighted moving average method. This method assigns a weight of five to the previous month’s demand, three to the demand two months ago, and one to the demand three months ago. Thus, if a restaurant sold 1000 pancakes in May, it would sell 3000 pancakes in July.
