Lucky Lehrer has been called the “Godfather of Hardcore Punk Drumming” by Flipside magazine and was an early developer of its style. Trained in jazz, Lucky became well known playing with LA punk bands such as Circle Jerks, Redd Kross, Bad Religion and Darby Crash Band; also teaching drum lessons to future Bad Religion drummer Bobby Schayer who took one of his courses.
Lehrer has an affinity for historic homes; in 2010 he and Sarah Siegel-Magness purchased one in Encino built in 1967 for $1.9 million and renovated by AUX Architects two years later, which boasted five bedrooms and six bathrooms, an infinity edge pool with raised spa area, as well as five terraced balconies spanning 4,200 square feet of living space designed by AUX Architects – designed in 1967 but most recently listed at $6.995 million with Josh and Matthew Altman of Douglas Elliman acting as listing agents.
