A stint in a county lock-up a few years back allowed singer/songwriter Donnie Vie to reclaim his health, his sobriety and his sense of purpose. Having re-entered the music scene with his latest solo album Beautiful Things, he’s now living proof that something good can always come from something bad.
The singer/songwriter has also rekindled his fiery passion for songwriting, and is now releasing a new EP on June 7th that will surely appeal to fans of hard rock and heavy metal. The release will feature a number of well-known special guests including Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big) and Mike LePond (Symphony X).
Donnie Vie has been making music for over 30 years, forming his first band in 1980 and eventually joining 1980s glam metallers Enuff Z’Nuff, where he’d become their vocalist/guitarist. The group enjoyed instant success with their debut record & two long playing MTV hits, winning “Top Pick” from Rolling Stone Magazine and inciting numerous TV & radio performances.
Over the years, he’s amassed a vast array of albums and decades of live shows to his name, both with and without his former band. He continues to write & perform under his own name and has recently completed a tour of Europe in the summer of 2015.
Beautiful Things is Donnie Vie’s newest album, which will be released on June 7th through Deko Entertainment. It’s his latest’solo’ effort after having parted ways with Enuff Z’Nuff in 2013, and is the first album he has written in four years.
This album has a theme of recapturing the ‘good old days’ and focusing on a variety of social and political ills that he believes need to be addressed in order to make our world a better place for everyone. The opening track, ‘I Could Save The World’, looks at the issues of our time with a wistful yet hopeful optimism that centres around bringing back values and behaviours from the past.
This is a great anthem for all ages that bridges genres and is bursting with fun & creativity from start to finish! The album is available on CD, digital download & streaming services.
