Machel Montano was born in Carenage, Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago on November 24, 1974 and spent much of his youth growing up in Siparia before attending Siparia Boys’ R.C and Presentation College – two prestigious schools located in San Fernando. He hails both Trinidadian and African-American descent.
