St John The Evangelist Center Moriches Faith Formation

The Saint John the Evangelist Center for Faith Formation is located in the heart of the City of Moriches. Our parish is a Roman Catholic school for children from Preschool through Grade 8. We work to develop the whole child through an environment of living faith, academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. Our mission is to serve God and our neighbors through education, faith formation, and parish outreach.

At the Center, we have a full program for adults interested in becoming a member of the Catholic Church. We offer classes for people of all religious backgrounds. We welcome adults who have never been baptized in any tradition, and those who were baptized in another tradition. We offer classes on Thursday mornings, from 8:50 am to 9:50 am. The program is offered from Sept. to May.

Adults are welcome to join the Rite of Christian Initiation. This process welcomes and initiates adults into the Catholic Church. This program is open to all people, no matter their religious background. It is available to people who have not been baptized or to those who were formerly baptized in another Christian tradition. Classes are held weekly from Sept. through May.

The Center also offers a Faith Formation program for adults. The RCIA process is a process for welcoming adults into the Catholic Church. It is open to people of all religious backgrounds. Whether you have never been baptized, or were baptized in another tradition, you are welcome here. The program is held weekly, from 8:50 am to 9:00 am.

The center provides opportunities for children to participate in the 10:30 am Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They are ushers and readers and are part of the Children’s Choir. On Christmas Eve, they present a pageant in the sanctuary. The sessions are for grades K-7. They meet every Thursday from September through May. If you are a Catholic, you can enroll in a Faith Formation program at St. John the Evangelist Center in Moriches.

If you’re considering becoming a Catholic, there are many opportunities for faith formation. The RCIA is a process for welcoming adults into the Catholic Church. It is open to all, regardless of religious background. Participants are welcome if they have never been baptized before or if they were baptized in another Christian tradition. During the RCIA process, children will receive instruction in the Catholic faith.
