Zubair Kazi is a wealthy man. But his personal life is interesting. He spent more time traveling than half of his life for business. Since then, he has downsized his restaurant empire and made investments in a nutraceutical and medical imaging device company. His wife, Khatija, started a women’s center in Bhatkal, Pa., where she spends two to three months twice a year. The centre offers computer classes, montessori classes and stitching, as well as a gymnasium.
In the early 80s, Mr. Kazi purchased his first KFC franchise. Today, his company has more than one hundred and fifty restaurants worldwide, mainly KFCs. He also owns Burger King Hawaii which is the state’s largest franchise. He estimates his net worth to be around $50 million. A quick look at the business will give you a good idea of how much this international executive can spend in the future.
A native of Bhatkal, Mr. Kazi studied in Mumbai and Calicut. He left Bhatkal in 1969 to pursue his dream of being a commercial pilot. Instead, he became a KFC cook in Los Angeles, and grew to be the second-largest KFC franchisee worldwide. Later, he opened his own KFC outlet.
