Have a Little Faith in Me was written by John Hiatt after he had quit drinking. It was his first song written after his sobriety, which had been a contributing factor in his marriage breakdown. The original recording featured a large instrumentation, but the project was plagued with technical difficulties. Unfortunately, he learned of his wife’s suicide the morning after recording began. The band changed the arrangements and released the track with a simple piano accompaniment. The video was directed by Christopher Mills.
