The Musical “Romeo and Juliet”
On October 23, 24 and 25, the legendary musical Romeo and Juliet will be shown at the Yubileiny sports complex in St. Petersburg. For the first time, viewers will be able to enjoy songs from a musical in French.
The musical is based on the play by William Shakespeare. It was first presented to the public in 2001 in Paris. The performance was warmly received by the audience: more than 7 million people have already watched it all over the world.
The classic plot tells the story of the forbidden love of two young people who had the misfortune of being born into warring clans.
The romantic music was written by Gerard Presgurvik, who decided to abandon the original text and retell the story of Romeo and Juliet in his own words. The musical exists in two versions. The first was created in 2001, the second – in 2010. In St. Petersburg, viewers will see the second version, supplemented by several new compositions and numbers.
