The rich and famous also cry with unhappy love.
“Love at second sight”
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow once said that Brad Pitt was her first love. The couple met while filming Seven in 1995, and Paltrow confessed that it was “love at second sight” for her. Then 31-year-old Brad and 22-year-old Gwyneth played spouses on the screen, and then transferred their feelings into real life. When they started dating, the actress stated:
“I really fell in love … and I don’t care if my ex-boyfriends read it.”
They were so attached to each other that they refused movie roles in order to constantly be together. Moreover, even Gwyneth’s strict dad, director Bruce Paltrow, approved the choice of his daughter.
Pitt was also crazy about his girlfriend:
“I have never been as happy as I am now,” the actor said then. “I just have an amazing girlfriend.”
They got engaged and absolutely sincerely wanted to live their entire lives together. Pitt refers to his proposal to Gwyneth in 1996 as “One of the greatest moments.”
“I take the institution of marriage very seriously,” the actress said. “There were no divorces in my family, and he, too, and we were together for a long time, so this is not a spontaneous and not a rash decision.”
How Gwyneth hurt Brad
However, a little later, Paltrow became somewhat cold towards Pitt. In 2015, almost 20 years later, the actress honestly described her condition:
“I think I was a child and I didn’t understand what I was doing. He was too good for me. I mean I was 22 when we met. You cannot make reasonable decisions when you are only 22. It seems to me that I have somehow grown wiser only by the age of 40 ”.
In a 2003 interview, the actress said that she “Behaved badly” in relation to Pitt:
“My inner doubts really ruined this relationship, and I felt like I was hurting everyone. And I hurt Brad too. “
Parting with her fiance in 1997 tormented the actress for a very long time, and she even admitted:
“When we parted, something changed forever in me. I was shattered and devastated that day, and I felt like I would never be the same. “
“I messed it up, Brad.”
For years, Gwyneth regretted her decision:
“I was worried about parting with him for a long time. But I was lucky that Brad and I spent three years together. He is a very good person, I was a freaky girl. “
In 2017, 45-year-old Gwyneth spoke about it again and admitted that she was not particularly lucky in her personal life:
“Oh my God, I’ve ruined so much of my relationship. I am a good friend, sister and daughter, but I am such a difficult partner. “
Her interviewer, Girlboss radio host Sofia Amoruso, began the line: “So Brad Pitt, if you’re listening …” and Paltrow ended this line by speaking loudly over the air: “I messed it up, Brad.”
