Many are interested in the question of how Russians will rest and work in the next 2018. Recently, the Government adopted a decree, according to which it became clear the distribution of weekends, working days and holidays in the 2018 calendar.

Weekends and public holidays in 2018 in Russia

Approved Russian Holidays fall on the following dates:

• January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 – New Year’s holidays
• Jan. 7 – Nativity
• February 23 – Defender of the Fatherland Day
• March 8 – International Women’s Day
• 1st of May – Spring and Labour Day
• May 9 – Victory Day
• 12 June – Russia Day
• November 4th – National Unity Day

As a result, the Russians will rest:

• 10 days – from December 30, 2017 to January 8, 2018
• 3 days – from 23 to 25 February
• 4 days – from 8 to 11 March
• 4 days – from April 29 to May 2
• 1 day – May 9
• 3 days – from 10 to 12 June
• 3 days – from 3 to 5 November

New Year and Christmas holidays will begin on December 30, 2018, so you can add 2 more legal days of rest.

Pre-holiday shortened days in 2018

Citizens will also be able to count on a shorter working day that will precede any holiday.

In 2018, the shortened pre-holiday days include:

• February 22.
• March 7.
• April 28.
• May 8.
• the 9th of June.
• December 29th.

Rescheduling the weekend in 2018

The above holidays and weekends are due to the postponement of some days.

Transferred:

• Saturday 6 January – on Friday 9 March.
• Sunday 7 January – on Wednesday, May 2.
• Saturday 28 April – on Monday 30 April.
• Saturday 9 June – on Monday 11 June.
• Sunday 4th November – on Monday 5 November.
• Saturday December 29 – on Monday 31 December.
