Although most horror films are pure fiction and even wild fantasy of their creators, some of them are still based on scary, but real events. Believe it or not, these 9 familiar horror films, which can be called horror classics, are based on very real life stories.

Craven himself recalled it this way:

“The third case was the 21-year-old son of a doctor. The guy was afraid to fall asleep because of nightmares. He was given sleeping pills but did not sleep for about six or seven days. Finally, he fell asleep. In the middle of the night, the family heard screams and crashes. They ran into the room and saw that the guy was dead. An autopsy revealed that there was no heart attack and he died of unexplained reasons. I was intrigued by this dramatic story, and for a year I thought that I needed to create something on this topic. “
