The 27-year-old musician took his own life in April 1994, and at that time they were married for just over two years.

Love and wedding in pajamas

This flamboyant couple met at a Portland nightclub in January 1990. It was Courtney who insisted on getting to know each other, since she had attended a Nirvana concert a year earlier and was fascinated by the vocalist. Kurt himself kept the fan at a distance:

“I still wanted to be a bachelor, but I really liked Courtney, and it was hard for me to deal with my feelings.”

In February 1992, the couple got married on the Hawaiian beach of Waikiki, as Courtney was already pregnant. The bride was in a white dress, as it should be, but the groom put on pajamas, because, according to him, “I was too lazy to put on a suit”… The ceremony was attended by only eight people from a circle of close friends.

Heroin addiction and suicide

By early 1994, Cobain was on the brink: he developed depression against the backdrop of a severe addiction to heroin. Former Nirvana manager Danny Goldberg describes the period:

“It was almost impossible to get through to Kurt, how deeply depressed he was. It was also impossible to communicate with him, and I am sure that he felt himself under a state of siege even in his own house. Courtney was scared and knew that her husband was going through a very difficult time and he needed help. “

In the end, Kurt agreed to treatment in a rehabilitation center, however, he soon escaped from there, breaking a two-meter fence. A week later, Cobain’s body was found at his home in Seattle, and he had been dead for three days. According to the official version, the musician injected himself with a huge dose of heroin and shot himself. At that time, his daughter and Courtney were only a year and a half, and the girl did not have any memories of her father.

Courtney Love never married again, although she was credited with a couple of novels with Hollywood actors. Many people even now consider her to be the culprit of the death of the cult singer and guitarist and even the cold-blooded organizer of his murder, skillfully disguised as suicide, since he was going to divorce her, which means she was losing the right to his 30-millionth fortune.
